A competition design for a new sea-side kiosk and promenade shelters for the Next Wave Regeneration of West Parade. The shelters are dynamic landmarks which define new public space for individuals and groups to meet and interact, enjoy the views and to shelter from the weather. Soft landscaping integrates with the Promenade and continues to the Kiosk. The Kiosk’s bright merchandise area is revealed each morning by drawing back the sliding façade and inflatable sunflowers announce that the kiosk is open. These new landmarks are finely constructed with timber lattice detailing, illuminated at night for special effect.
